Greetings Emporia Members!  Below is our January Group Fitness news.  Please make sure to follow our facebook page for ongoing updates too!

16 in 60 Congratulations

Congratulations to Sharon Williams for completing 16 group fitness classes in 60 days!  They will receive a Genesis T-Shirt, 50 G-Perks and one free “Shake This Burner” shake.  Best of all you are on your way to meeting your fitness goals!  Studies show that people are more apt to continue a fitness program if they exercise with another person or in a group.  It also takes about 60 days to “develop a habit.”  With our 16 in 60 Program, you get both!

Instructor of the Month

Morgan Pearson:  I was born and raised in Dodge City, KS.  I  grew up as a competitive dancer and spent most of my time in dance studios or on the road competing.  In high school, I was a member of the Dodge City High School Drill Team and danced for the Dodge City Legand Semi-Pro Basketball Team.  In 2005 I  graduated and moved to Emporia to attend Emporia State University where I  danced as a ‘Stinger’ and majored in Education.  I  graduated in 2011 with a degree in Secondary Math Education.  I began working out at Genesis Health Clubs in January 2012, and started working as an instructor in October of 2012.   In addition to teaching at the gym, I am currently teaching 8th grade math at Emporia Middle School,  and coaching the dance team at Emporia High School.  I have three beautiful daughters, Mariah (7), Brenna (5), and Madalyn (3).
Me and girls.

Featured Class of the Month

R.I.P.P.E.D. is the One Stop Body Shock 50-60 minute workout that combines strength/resistance training, plyometrics, endurance and more along with great music that equals one fantastic and challenging workout!   taught by Morgan Pearson and Andra Baldwin.

New Instructor in December, Kayla Ayer

"My name is Kayla Ayer.  I was born and raised in Emporia, Ks. I   attended Emporia High School where I graduated with honors and have a state champion title in powerlifting. I am now attending Emporia State University where I am pursing a degree in physical and health education.  I am 19 years old and have a younger brother Kyle and a younger sister, Katie.  I enjoy spending time with friends and family as well as lifting in my free time.  Joining the Genesis team has changed my life and I enjoy every minute of being in the club. I heard about Genesis through some friends and now it is like a second home to me.  Being in the club puts me in a positive mood and I always leave with a smile on my face and satisfaction of hard work.  I bring to Genesis the knowledge of power and Olympic  lifting as well as how to train for different sports.  I am excited to learn new ways of training and working with different people through teaching classes and personal training.   I will be teaching Core and HIIT here at Genesis ."
