We have two new Instructors to introduce this month:

Lisa Moritz:  joined the Emporia Genesis Health Club as a member in May of 2011, first working with personal trainers and later trying various group fitness classes. After being a “Power Groupie” since the fall of 2012, Lisa became a certified Group Power instructor last month.
Lisa is originally from Tipton, Kansas and has lived in Emporia since May of 2005. Lisa works as an Executive Coordinator in the Office of the President at ESU and also teaches literature and writing classes for the English dept. at the university. In addition to her work at the university, Lisa is also studying to become a Certified Health Coach, helping people make nutrition and lifestyle changes to improve their overall health. She expects to receive her certificate from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition in May 2015.
Lisa has an 11-year-old son, Eliot, who is in middle school at EMS and who plays violin and loves anything to do with Minecraft. Lisa’s husband, Kevin Rabas, teaches creative writing (poetry and playwriting) at ESU and plays drums in an original folk/blues band called The Petroglyphs. Lisa is also a singer/songwriter with two CDs of original songs Dream of Blue (2002) and Holding Time (2006).

Hope Edelman: My husband and I became Genesis members 2 years ago!  We wanted to stay fit and healthy so we can travel when we get older.  We have 3 sons: Layke, 16, who just became a member, Sage 13, and Zane 11.  I am the owner of an auction business, Swift-N-Sure Auctions & Real Estate which has been in business for 9 years.  My husband auctions and I do everything else.  We both sell real estate and have a few rentals.  We are very family oriented and active in our church.  My hobbies are: horses, love horses, which I have a couple, ceramics, and exercise!  Once you get started and see the results it is hard to quit!  I became an instructor to boost my self-confidence and to show people that if I can do it, you can too!  My husband says when I make up my mind to do something, nothing can stop me.   Come and join me in working out in Group Power or any of our other variety of workouts here at Genesis!
