Welcome to the Pilates Studio at Genesis Health Clubs. We appreciate your interest in Pilates and are looking forward to getting you started. We offer Private and Semi-Private training in our fully equipped studio as well as Group Reformer, JumpBoard, and ALL equipment training. We also offer “drop-in” Mat classes which are included in your membership. Pilates conditioning promotes physical harmony and balance for people of all ages and physical conditions while providing an energizing workout.

 

Regardless of your current level of fitness; from sedentary office worker to fitness enthusiast, Pilates exercise can be your primary mode of body conditioning or injury prevention. Whatever your goals, Pilates can and will change your body and life!

PRIVATE PILATES STUDIO AND SEMI-PRIVATE TRAINING

Offered at our Rock Road and West Central locations.

Private Pilates Training is for men and women of all ages and abilities. Everyone comes in with their own goals and postural issues in mind. Here at the GHC Pilates Studio your trainer will teach you everything you need to know about Pilates exercise and the Pilates principals at your own pace as opposed to a classroom pace. We’ll schedule your appointments at a time that is most convenient for you and the sessions revolve around your individual needs and goals.Allow our trainers to visit with you about the wonderful benefits of Pilates exercise and how Pilates exercise will help you!

 

Training rates are based on the level of the trainer; Apprentice, Level I, Level II and Level III trainers are available. For our rates please contact Kelli Harsh. Everyone qualifies for one complimentary session to learn more about our programs, our studio and what Pilates training is all about. All new clients also qualify for a one time purchase of our Introductory Pilates Package, which is 3 private sessions for $150.00. During these 3 sessions we teach our clients how to use the equipment, teach some of the exercises done on the equipment, as well as discuss your current exercise routine, health history and personal fitness goals. If your plan is to attend our mat classes only, we will focus on teaching the core exercises done in a mat class and your personal modifications. This is to help you feel comfortable and safe joining a class. You will get the most out of class with this basic information prior to your mat workouts. PILATES GROUP REFORMER/JUMPBOARD WORKOUTS

What is a Group Reformer class? These classes are performed on the Pilates Reformer which is a spring loaded machine. The springs add resistance which will challenge your strength, muscle endurance and flexibility with each exercise. Reformer workouts condition the whole body and can be especially FUN in a group!

Who can participate? Men and women of all ages can participate that would like to condition and tone their whole body. Some injuries and/or health issues may prevent a student from safely participating in a group setting. Therefore, private training would be best.

How can someone get started? All Group Reformer students must do at least 3 *introductory sessions before joining a class. As long as there are not any physical conditions that may be compromised by participating in a group setting, new students can join a class once the 3 sessions are completed. In some cases your trainer may suggest additional private or semi-private training before joining a class.

What is the Jump Board? The JB is a firmly padded board which attaches to the foot of the reformer. Plyometric training is done while lying supine as opposed to standing with full body weight and impact. The JB brings a cardiovascular element to Pilates exercise including intervals of upper body strength work. Great for sport specific training!

PILATES GROUP EQUIPMENT WORKOUTS

What is a Group Equipment workout? The group equipment workouts are for groups of 4 – 6 students that would like to work out on all pieces of equipment in a group setting. Equipment used includes, Reformer, Cadillac, Chair and Barrels. The group meets 2 times per week and progresses as a group.

Who can participate? Men and women of all ages can participate that would like to condition and tone their whole body using a variety of Pilates equipment. Some injuries and/or health issues may prevent a student from safely participating in a group setting. Therefore, private training would be best.

How can someone get started? All Group Equipment students must do at least 12 private or semi-private sessions before joining a Group Equipment class. As long as there are not any physical conditions that may be compromised by participating in a group setting, new students can join a class once the private sessions are completed. In some cases your trainer may suggest additional private or semi-private training before joining a class.

PILATES OPEN GYM WORKOUTS

What is Open Gym? Open Gym is available for students that are able to workout in the studio on their own within a group and with the supervision of one of our Pilates Trainers. Students are given a workout plan from their Pilates Trainer which they are able to follow on their own. The individual workouts are based on what each student has learned.

Who can participate? Participants are men and women of all ages that are able to practice Pilates on the equipment on their own. Some injuries and/or health issues may prevent a student from safely participating in a less supervised environment. Therefore, other options may be advised.

How can someone get started? To participate in the Open Gym program students must complete 12 private sessions with a GHC Pilates Trainer. If the student has any special conditions it may be recommended that they continue with private training until it is safe for them to participate in the Open Gym program. All participates must do at least one private session per month so that their workout can be updated on a consistent basis. One private session per week is ideal for those that would like to progress at a faster pace or would like to have more one on one attention.  Contact us for Open Gym rates.
