(ST. JOSEPH, MO) – Genesis Health Clubs has purchased the St. Joseph Tennis and Swim Club located at 3107 N Belt Hwy. Currently Genesis owns/operates 12 clubs in Wichita, Hutchinson, Salina, Emporia, Lawrence, Leavenworth and McPherson, Kansas. With 28 years of experience and great expertise in the health and fitness industry, they are looking forward to bringing a true health club experience to St. Joe. Genesis will also be sharing a portion of the future profits from the facility with the St. Joseph Tennis Foundation as part of the sale.

"Our goal is to transform the current St. Joseph Tennis Center into a full service health and tennis club to serve members and patrons in St. Joseph. You will see a lot of changes to the facility, as we plan on getting started immediately by moving fitness equipment in to the club." said Rodney Steven II, Owner of Genesis Health Clubs. "We will begin working with architects to expand the building further and to accommodate a cardio area, weight room, remodeled tennis courts (courts resurfaced, new backdrops, new lighting), and also expanded / remodeled locker rooms." Genesis has also purchased two and a half acres of land just north of the current facility for fitness expansion.

Genesis will be introducing a new tennis pro to the facility, Kyle Taylor, a USPTA professional and St. Joseph native. Kyle is a graduate of Central High School and has experience at the Kansas City United Tennis Academy, Lifetime Fitness in Colorado,Springs, CO, and is the former men's and women's head coach at a private high school in Colorado Springs. Kyle also played collegiate tennis for William Jewell located in Liberty, MO.

Genesis has had great success transforming existing tennis facilities to their health club model including the acquisition of the Wichita Racquet Club in 2001. The tennis facility catered to just 2,000 members when purchased, and is now one of the nicest full health &tennis clubs in the Midwest servicing 10,000 members.

More detail available about the remodel, rates for new members and specifics regarding the club will be available in the coming months. Questions and concerns can be directed to info@genesishealthclubs.com.
