SPRING PILATES at GENESIS HEALTH CLUBS


First of all I’m so happy spring finally here!  Soon we’ll have warmer temperatures, and a lot of sunshine.  This is a great time to begin a Pilates program OR take your existing program to the next level.

As always we love to have visitors in the studios so if you’re not sure what to expect during a Pilates class or private lesson then

SPRING SCHEDULE UPDATES


*BASIC PILATES:    This is a great starting point for beginners.  This class teaches the basic principals and builds a foundation of exercises required to move on to the next level.  
SPRING SESSION:  March 30 – April 23 every Tuesday/Thursday at 11:00 am ROCK RD. LOCATION
 
*PILATES RHYTHMS: NEW CLASS ADDED on Mondays at 9:30 am BEGINNING March 29!  ROCK RD. LOCATION
                        The Thursday 8:30 am class will continue!  For experienced students.
*SIGN UP REQUIRED (NO COST) Classes held in the 3rd floor studio
SIGN UP CLASSES WILL NOT TAKE PLACE THE WEEK OF SPRING BREAK MARCH 15 – MARCH 19.

1.    ADD a Mat class if you only work on equipment…..
2.    ADD a Group Reformer class if you do Mat classes only…….
3.    ADD a Private or Semi-Private if you are not working on ALL pieces of equipment…….
4.    ADD Group Equipment Training if you do Privates and want to work more on your own…..
5.    ADD JUMPBOARD Training if you want to incorporate cardio training into your Pilates workout!

Spring is a great time to tone up, and slim down and Pilates exercise will help make that happen by increasing our body awareness, improving our posture and flexibility and strengthening our entire body while focusing on our core!

GROUP REFORMER CLASSES

The reformer is a spring loaded Pilates machine that provides a full body workout with an emphasis on posture and the core region of the body. This class is the perfect complement to your current fitness program. The effective mind-body approach to exercise will produce optimal strength, flexibility and posture while creating a longer, leaner you!

 

Jumpboard Workouts

Try this new high intensity Pilates based workout! Strengthen your core and build cardiovascular endurance at the same time.  This full body workout will leave your muscles feeling stronger, longer and more flexible.

Sign up for a FREE Group Reformer/Jumpboard class offered at Rock Road the first Saturday of each month beginning January 9, 2010. (For first time students only)  SIGN UP REQUIRED 1 WEEK PRIOR TO CLASS

DESCRIPTIONS
Level I:  This is for the new student wanting to learn and practice the beginning Reformer exercises.

Level II : this class offers a full body workout perfect for those that want to strengthen and tone.  Level II Reformer is for those doing privates or with 6 months experience on the Reformer.

Sport Specific Training Class: This class is designed for those wanting to enhance their skills in a specific sport such as running, swimming, dance, golf and more!  Whether your focus is flexibility, endurance or building core strength you are sure to do all that as well as improve posture and balance. If you're ready to take your sport to next level Pilates Sport Specific Training is for you!

• Classes limited to 4  participants
• Cost of  Session:    $160.00 / 8 Classes

All classes are drop-in @ WC, experience in pilates suggested for Pilates Mat Plus.  Xpress classes are 40 minute duration.  Reformer Classes are set up with trainers, and are ongoing.  Orientation appointment will be made with first-time client as part of their sign-up package.

GROUP CENTERGY

Redefine your self with Group Centergy.  Grow longer and stronger as you explore this 60 minute journey of yoga and Pilates movements.  Positive uplifting music, group dynamics and supportive instructors will enable you to center your energy, reduce stress and even smile.  Discover Group Centergy!PILATES I

Designed for those new to Pilates exercise. This class is a personal and practical approach designed to emphasize the postural benefits of Pilates and how Pilates can be used to avoid or counteract everyday stresses, aches and pains. Increase flexibility, range of motion and strength while improving posture and feeling better!

PILATES I/II

The Pilates I/II class is for the student that has completed at least one full session of the Basic Pilates classes.

PILATES II

This class covers the beginning and some intermediate mat sequences, with emphasis on rhythm, flow, concentration and control while working with the breath.  Exercises flow from one to another working the entire body, creating a general mind/body workout leaving you feeling relaxed, open and centered.

PILATES XPRESS

This 30 minute class will move through a quick series of Pilates exercises. You are sure to get a deep abdominal workout while focusing on breath, posture and using correct technique. A great class to do before or after another workout!
