Greetings McPherson Members!  Below is our October Group Fitness news.

16 in 60 Congratulations!

Congratulations to Robin Roets and Michelle Allen for completing 16 group fitness classes in 60 days!  These ladies will receive a Genesis T-Shirt, 50 G-Perks and one free “Shake This Burner” shake.  Best of all you are on your way to meeting your fitness goals!  Studies show that people are more apt to continue a fitness program if they exercise with another person or in a group.  It also takes about 60 days to “develop a habit.”  With our 16 in 60 Program, you get both!

If you are new to the club and want to try out our Group Fitness Program please pick up the 16 in 60 form at the desk so you too can be rewarded for trying our classes!

Instructor of the Month - David “G-Cycle” Galmore 

I joined Genesis Health Clubs Hutchinson as a member in the fall of 2009, but quit attending for months at a time in 2010 and 2011.  I weighed over 300 pounds by late Spring 2011.  Self loathing and a desperate need for change brought me back to Genesis July 15, 2011.

I “caught fire” attending every class I could and working with a life changing personal trainer.  I will never return to my old ways.  I quit smoking on Thanksgiving Day 2011 and was asked to join the Genesis team as a G-Cycle instructor three weeks later on December 15th.  In 2012, I received my certification to teach Group Ride/R30.  In 2013, I received my certification to teach Group Centergy. I am also certified to teach G-Cycle (2011), which is my absolute favorite class to teach!!   I was blessed enough to join the McPherson Genesis team May 2014.  I began teaching R30 shortly after.  

My mantra is:  BETTER, STRONGER, FASTER!  My life’s calling is to teach group fitness classes and relentlessly practice to bring the best to my class participants!  Join me in one of my classes at the McPherson club:

October Schedule

We’ve added the following classes to our Group Fitness schedule effective Monday, September 29th:

  • Monday – 7:30 p.m. DDP Yoga
  • Tuesday – 8:15 a.m. Buttz & Gutz and 9:00 a.m. Group Ride
  • Wednesday – 6:30 p.m. DDP Yoga
  • Thursday – 9:00 a.m. Group Ride

Starting the week of Monday, October 20th, we will be adding Group Kick on Tuesdays @ 5:30 p.m. and Saturdays @ 8:00 a.m.  

New MOSSA Programs coming to the Club:
GROUP KICK® – KICK SOME…….with Group Kick®!  This gripping hour burns a ton of calories and builds total body strength.  Tap into the hottest mixed martial arts movements done at a rapid-fire pace to smash your cardio fitness.  From the boxing ring to the fighting cage, Group Kick combines cutting-edge moves with thrilling music.  This electric experience is addictive!  BRING IT ON with Group Kick!  We will have our official Launch Party on Saturday, October 18th @ 9:00 a.m.  

GROUP BLAST® - BLAST OFF your workout with 60 minutes of cardio training that uses THE STEP® in highly effective, athletic ways.  Group Blast® will get your heart pounding and sweat pouring as you improve your fitness, agility, coordination, and strength with exciting music and group energy.  HAVE A BLAST!  Coming in November!

This is a great opportunity to learn some of the basic punches, kicks, stances, techniques used in a normal Group Kick class.  Group Kick borrows movements from boxing, kickboxing and various mixed martial arts disciplines.

This preview class will help prepare you for the classes that will be offered on our regular schedule after our initial Launch Party on Saturday, October 18th!

“Group Kick is for anyone wanting a challenging, athletic and motivating workout in a realistic time frame” suggests MOSSA, creators of Group Kick.

David Williams and DDP Yoga:
Welcome new instructor David Williams, certified DDP Yoga Instructor!  Do you want to burn fat and build strength with minimal joint impact?  You CAN with DDP Yoga!  This all-in-one workout offers intense cardio with minimal impact on the joints using the basic principles of yoga blended with elements of strength conditioning, Pilates and mixed martial arts.  David is passionate about this program and his results are a testimony to DDP Yoga and how it can work for you!  We are so excited to bring this to our members! Join us on Mondays @ 7:30 p.m. and Wednesdays @ 6:30 p.m. in Studio A!

Our Launch Parties are always open to the public, so please bring your friends for a great workout, food, fun and drawings for prizes after class!!
