Nikole
Camp Site Director
Nikole Bielby holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Northwest Missouri Statement and is a freshman at Capella University getting a Masters in Applied Behavior Analysis and Neuroscience where she plans to help and work with children. This is her fourth year on the Mighty Camp Team and her first year as Camp Director. She is an aunt to two nephews who she loves spending time with her free time! She is excited to spend another summer at Mighty Camp and is looking forward to making Summer 2022 a summer you can look back fondly!
Shae
Village Lead
Shae Harwood has just graduated from Missouri Western State University and plans to get her Masters in Child Life. She loves the outdoors, sports, hanging with friends, and kids! This will be Shae’s first year here on the Mighty Camp Team, where she will be a Village Leader! She’s super excited to share in the Mighty Moments, build competent, capable, problem-solvers, and encourage both staff and campers towards a fun and growth-oriented summer!
Ashleigh
Village Lead
Ashleigh is a graduate of Central High School, and she is going to be a junior at Mizzou in the fall. She is majoring in Journalism and minoring in creative writing. This is her 4th summer working at Mighty Camps and she couldn’t be more excited to be a part of the team again. Prior to joining the team in 2019, Ashleigh worked with kids in youth reading programs and at summer schools. She is passionate about changing the lives of children and teaching them to be capable problem solvers as they grow up. In her free time Ashleigh loves to dance, run, and weightlift! In her fourth year at Genesis, Ashleigh will be a Village Lead!
Eugenia
Lead Camp Counselor
Eugenia is a junior and tennis player at Central High School. This will be her second year as a lead counselor of Mighty Camps and third year in the program overall. She is really excited to see all the campers from last year and meet new ones! Her favorite activities are tennis, reading, watching TV, and playing board games with her family. Her favorite part about last summer was getting to play dodgeball and frogger with the campers. This summer she hopes to become a lacrosse expert. She is really excited for this summer and the new adventures that will come along!
Helen
Lead Camp Counselor
Helen is currently a Senior at Northwest Missouri State University in pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in Therapeutic Recreation with a minor in art. This will be her second summer here on the Mighty Camp team as a lead counselor! Helen has volunteered and worked with kids for almost 10 years in Rock Kids, the children’s ministry at The Rock of KC in Kansas City, MO. She is responsible for leading and cultivating new experiences with your campers to support them in reaching their full potential while having fun. When she isn’t creating memories, you can find her either out enjoying nature or coated in paint putting her creativity to use. She has a passion for growth, excitement, and discovery in all facets of life and she’s anticipating making this summer one that is magical, memorable and of course, MIGHTY!
Julia
Lead Camp Counselor
Julia Fangman is twenty-one years old and has just completed her junior year at Truman State University and a second year Mighty Lead Counselor! While working towards her degree in Justice Systems, Julia plays on the women’s varsity tennis team. When she is not studying or playing tennis, she enjoys practicing with the club spike ball and ultimate frisbee team! She loves hanging out with friends, listening to music, and lounging in the outdoors. She is excited to work for Mighty Camp for a second year in a row!
Jonny
Lead Camp Counselor
Johnny Bottorff is a senior at Missouri Western Missouri State University where he plays football! Johnny is majoring in exercise science and is returning to Mighty Camp for a second year as a Lead Counselor! He is looking forward to leading the kids this summer through all sorts of sports and physical activities. He believes thar this summer will be lots of fun and plans on teaching all the kids life lessons and having tons of goody and fun experiences!
Grace
Lead Camp Counselor
Grace Valentine is a Senior at Central High School, and this will be her second summer with the Mighty Camps team as a lead counselor! Currently, she is an intern in the recovery room at Mosaic and has a strong passion for the field of medicine. Outside volunteering, Grace is a member of the CHS orchestra and swim team! She is very excited to learn and lead throughout her second summer at camp and wants to ensure that she has made every camper of her group feel involved and important daily, as well as expanding problem-solving and social skills together!
Kylee
Camp Counselor
Kylee is a Junior at Missouri Western State University and is studying Early Childhood Education. She grew up playing multiple sports all year round and is very excited to be a part of the Mighty Team and to working with kids this summer! She hopes to help them learn more about sports, to have fun, and make a lot of new friends!
Keith
Camp Counselor
Keith Russell Jr. is joining the Mighty Camp Team for this first time this year as a Counselor! He is from Frisco, Texas and currently attends Missouri Western State University where he plays football! His hobbies include working out, fishing, and swimming! Keith is excited to grow with the program and share what being Mighty means to him!
Jamal
Camp Counselor
Jamal Jones is twenty-two years old from Harvey Illinois! He is currently attending Missouri Western State University getting a degree is Business. He enjoys playing football will fellow counselors Johnny and Keith. This will be his first year on the Mighty Camp Team as a counselor – he is looking forward to creating summer memories with all the campers and sharing his love of football!
Julianna
Camp Counselor
Julianna has lived in Saint Joseph for most of her life. She is currently going to Missouri Western to obtain her bachelor’s degree in social work. She is a very kind, outgoing, funny, caring, and energetic person who loves working with kids. Julianna has a good amount of experience with children and is very excited to be an official camp counselor – it has always been a dream of hers. She can’t wait to meet all of the amazing campers and to make this summer a good one!
