Indoor Pool Schedule

Genesis South Etiquette and Saftey Rules 

  1. No Lifeguard on duty; swim at your own risk.
  2. Please refer to the pool schedule for open swim, classes, lessons, etc. No open swim during structured programs.
  3. No running on the pool deck, please walk.
  4. No diving into the shallow end of the pool.
  5. Feet first, forward-facing jumping is permitted. Flips, twists, and back jumps are not allowed.
  6. No gum, food, or drinks in the pool area. You may use the café.
  7. Do not hang on the lap lane lines.
  8. Pool equipment should be used in a safe and appropriate manner. Return to where you got it from.
  9. No pushing, roughhousing, or horseplay.
  10. Children under 2 years of age must wear a swim diaper.
  11. Persons with open cuts or sores or symptoms of illness are not allowed in the pool.
  12. Any children under the age of 12 must be supervised by an adult at all times.
  13. Children under age 5 must have an adult in the pool within arms reach.
  14. Any activity which interferes with the safety or enjoyment of others will be stopped with a warning before dismissal by any team member.

Summer Swim Lessons

Group Swim Lesson Guidelines

  • Children must be 3 years of age to take group lessons independently
  • Children under 3 years old may participate in Parent/Child classes
  • Session must be paid in full to secure a spot in a particular class. No refunds.
  • Registration begins 7 days prior to group swim lesson session dates (through SPOND App)
  • Sign-up is through SPOND App: https://spond.com/landing/group/DEPJN 
  • If it is evident that a child is not ready for their level, an Aquatics staff member will contact the parent to arrange to transfer the child into another available class if applicable
  • Make-up classes will depend on if the class session is full for other days
  • Each class must have a minimum enrollment of 4 students. Classes with fewer than 4 students will be canceled for the session. Enrollment will be transferred to another session.
  • Registration closes 24 hours before the start of the class unless approved by coordinator.
  • Sessions are 2 weeks long with lessons 2x per week on designated days
  • $100 Members for 4 classes (2x/week for 2 weeks = 1 session)
  • $120 Non-Members for 4 classes (2x/week for 2 weeks = 1 session)
Level 1 | Introduction to Water Skills | 6:1 Student - Instructor Ratio

Students will focus on being comfortable in the water, learn the importance of water safety, get introduced to front and back floats, front and back glides, and alternating arm and leg actions. Children at this level do not need any previous swimming experience.

Level 2 | Fundamental aquatic skills | 6:1 Student - Instructor Ratio

Students will focus on completely submerging, floating, and gliding without support, swimming using alternating leg and arm action for five yards, water safety rules, and how to help others. Children at this level should be comfortable trying skills on their own.

LEVEL 3 | Stroke Development | 6:1 Student - Instructor Ratio

Students will focus on deepwater entry and safety, side breathing, treading water, introduction to freestyle, backstroke, butterfly kick, and body motion. Children at this level should be able to swim five yards on their own.

LEVEL 4 | Stroke Improvement | 6:1 Student - Instructor Ratio

Students will focus on surface dives and underwater swimming, treading water using kicks, freestyle, backstroke, butterfly, breaststroke, and diving safety. Children at this level should be able to swim 25 yards without stopping.

Pricing

$100 Members for 4 classes (2x/week for 2 weeks = 1 session)

$120 Non-Members for 4 classes (2x/week for 2 weeks = 1 session)

Updates

We will post all class updates and location changes through the SPOND app (please download). This is how you will sign up your kiddos for group swim lessons.

A friendly reminder, we will keep a 6:1 (student-to-instructor) ratio for all classes and require a minimum of 4 kids per class. If we do not have the minimum number for the class, we will cancel it through the SPOND app.

Genesis Miramont South - Summer Swim Team

We are so excited to introduce our summer swim team. All practices will be held at Genesis South.

Water Aerobics

Classes are offered 6 days a week. See the Pool schedule for times.

Classes offered are:

  • Silver Splash
  • Aqua Intervals
  • Deep H2O

Pool Rentals and Special Events are available on the weekends per special request. Contact the Aquatics office for details and scheduling.

Lap Swimming Information

  • If all lanes are occupied, we encourage you to circle swim or split the lane.
  • Circle swimming is when you always swim on the right side of the lane and follow others in the lane. Splitting a lane is when there are two people in the lane and each swim on one side.
  • Feel free to note on the whiteboard when you will be done.
  • If all lanes are occupied, (two swimmers per lane), limit your swim time to 30 minutes if people are waiting.
  • If sharing the lane is necessary, please notify the other swimmers before entering the lane.
