North Overland Park Aquatics

North Overland Park offers year-round access to a six-lane indoor pool and hot tub! Seasonally, outdoor pools are open for member use, featuring three swimming lanes, water bucket play features, a full circle water slide, and an 8-foot diving well.

Utilize these lanes for lap swimming, swimming lessons, water aerobics classes, and play!

Looking to relax? Our locker rooms offer hot tubs, steam rooms, and saunas.

Swim Lessons

Genesis offers Group, Toddler, Semi-Private, and Private lessons year-round in the indoor pool. Lessons may take place in the outdoor pool, weather permitting. Lessons are consistently taught by highly trained instructors.

Toddler (With Parent)

For toddlers aged 2 - 4 to learn water safety, controlled breathing, kicking, floating, and general comfort in the water. Games and songs are to be learned alongside a parent or guardian. Classes are 30 minutes and require one parent or guardian's participation IN THE WATER the entire class duration.

Group Lessons

Group lessons are great for students (ages 5+) seeking to gain swimming knowledge while working with other swimmers with similar skill sets. Lessons are 30 minutes long and have an Instructor-to-Swimmer ratio of 1:4

1 - Adjusting and Comfort

Best for brand-new or younger swimmers looking to get comfortable in the water!

Objectives are:

  • Comfortable play and safe entry
  • Correct breathing form
  • Floating/gliding while both face up and down
2 - Introductory to Strokes

Great for students who are comfortable in the water, with the ability to float or glide with ease.

Objectives are:

  • Breathing while kicking
  • Crawl stroke
  • Elementary backstroke
3 - Intermediate Strokes

Best for individuals who have experience “play swimming” but are looking to improve stroke form.

Objectives include working on the following strokes:

  • Freestyle
  • Breaststroke
  • Backstroke
4 - Advancing the Strokes

Great for students looking to go from a casual swimmer to having a competitive skill set.

Objectives are:

  • Butterfly stroke
  • Flipturns
  • Swimming entries
5 - Endurance and Training

Perfect for those looking to perfect their swimming form and skills. Program completion results in a customized gift for the swimmer.

Objectives are:

  • Fine-tuning stroke form
  • Endurance to complete a 200m Individual Medley
  • Tread water for 3 minutes

Semi-Private Lessons

Semi-private lessons are perfect for students looking to improve swimming skills but would prefer working in close groups, with siblings or friends.

Lessons are 40 minutes long and have an Instructor-to-Swimmer ratio of 1:2.

Private Lessons

Private lessons are great for students who prefer independent learning. Great for all ages, skill-sets, and abilities.

Lessons are 45 minutes long and have an Instructor-to-Swimmer ratio of 1:1.

Aqua Deep Water

Get all the benefits from land-based exercise without the impact. Working in deep water improves core strength to stabilize your torso.

We combine powerful moves to optimize cardio and muscular conditioning. Expect the added water resistance to increase your calorie burn. You'll tone your body from head to toe and "zero" in on a new way to exercise!

Aqua

This full-body water-based workout is designed to improve cardiovascular fitness, strength, range of motion, and endurance.

Strength and cardio exercises, using both equipment and water/body resistance, produce results in aerobic and anaerobic capacity. Bring out the water athlete inside of you!

Aqua Arthritis

Care for your joints with this zero-impact, slow-paced water exercise class. You'll use water and body resistance to condition and calm your upper and lower body in a fun group setting.

Water Dance Cardio

Water Dance Cardio is a water aerobics class that utilizes music to guide the pace and moves. Similar to traditional aerobics, this class will use fast and slow-paced songs with exercise moves to give participants a fun and exciting water workout.

Song requests are encouraged! Class is 1 hour long.

Master Swimming

Master Swimming is a national program that empowers adults to improve their lives through swimming. Genesis uses this program to provide workouts for athletes who enjoy swimming or are training for races, triathlons, or other events.

Class Times:

Mondays and Fridays | 5 - 6 AM
Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays | 12 - 1 PM

Lane Reservations

Please note that while lessons and classes are in session, indoor lanes #1 & #2 will be reserved for class use.

While Master Swim is in session, indoor lanes #4, #5, & #6 will be reserved.

Weather permitting, outdoor classes and lessons will be held outside of the lane.
