Swim Conditioning

Fall 2024 - Spring 2025 Swim Conditioning

Swim Conditioning is a program designed for the most seasoned swimmer. Practices are one hour in length, working on both strokes and endurance. Practices are held at our East Lincoln location.

Mondays | 5 - 6 PM
Wednesdays | 5 - 6 PM
Fridays | 4 - 5 PM

This program runs month to month through the school year. You can choose the frequency per week to swim. This is not a learn-to-swim program.

Swim conditioning is open to both members and non-members, with pricing dependent upon the child's membership status. Open to ages 5 through high school.

Swimming Lessons

Genesis offers swimming lessons for members and non-members. Group lessons, private and semi-private lessons are available for children and adults. We offer private & semi-private lessons seven days a week!

GROUP SWIMMING LESSONS

The next Swim Session is open for registration! This is a 3-week session intended for kids ages 3+.

Get your kids swimming at our Lincoln Racquet Club location! Lessons begin the week of December 2 and run until the week of December 19 - right before the holidays. Multiple class times are available at our Racquet Club and East Lincoln locations.

Members and non-members are welcome! Pricing varies based on the child's membership status.

Class levels and descriptions:

Level One – 3 years or older with little to no skill. Children will learn breath control, gliding in a prone position, kicking, pulling, back floating, age-appropriate water safety skills. (Limit 4 children per class)

Level One Plus – For children who are not ready for level 2 but are an advanced Level 1. Children will work on breath control, putting face in the water for longer than 3 seconds, gliding in a prone position, kicking, arm pulls, floating, finning on back, modified freestyle, beginning backstroke, age-appropriate water safety, including how to roll over on their back and float automatically. (Limit 4)

Level Two – Swimmers have basic skills and have completed Level 1. Children will learn to begin rotary breathing, finning on the back, big arm pulls for both the freestyle and backstroke, begin to perform strokes independently, retrieve objects off the floor of the pool, age-appropriate water safety skills, how to roll over on their back and float no matter what depth. (Limit 5 children per class)

Level Two Plus – This class was designed for the swimmer who has passed out of Level 2 but is not quite ready for the challenges of Level 3 or is very small. They will begin to cover Level 3 skills but at a slower pace. Perfect arm pulls, work on rotary breathing with strokes, underwater streamline glides, bobbing and traveling, backstroke. (Limit 5)

Level Three – Swimmers work on putting all the pieces together for freestyle and backstroke. They will work on perfecting arm pulls, perfecting rotary breathing with the strokes, kicks, underwater streamline glide, treading water, bobbing and traveling, general pool rules. (Limit 6)

Level Four – Swimmers will work on performing freestyle and backstroke with good technique while improving endurance. At this level, children will learn body dolphin (the worm), breaststroke arms, prone kick, coordinating arms and legs for breaststroke, age-appropriate water safety skills. (Limit 8)

Level Five – Swimmers continue to work on distance with perfected freestyle and backstroke. They will learn the butterfly. At this level, they will also learn bilateral breathing, turns, surface dives (if appropriate), survival float, and age-appropriate safety rules. (Limit 8)

Upper levels can opt into our Swim Conditioning Program for the more advanced swimmer!

 

PRIVATE SWIM LESSONS (CHILDREN AND ADULTS)

We offer thirty-minute-long private lessons set according to your needs on a one-on-one basis. Semi-private lessons are also available.

Private Infant Safety Lessons

This lesson is designed for the child ages seven months to 2 years. Each class is 15 minutes in length to learn a specific skill set of floating on the backside & pulling themselves out of the water. This lesson is important for all little people to provide safety in the water. Lessons are available seven days a week based upon both instructor & pool availability.

Swim Team

Summer Swim Team is a recreational swim team for youth. Ages 5 - 18 welcome.

This is for members and non-members who are looking for a recreational swim team. It includes daily practice weekdays from the end of May through the middle of July. Your swimmer will gain endurance and improve stroke work, all while having a fun time with their peers. Our coaching staff has over 20 years running this program.

Open Swim

We reserve lap lanes at the front desk during hour of operation at the club. Call the front desk at 402-423-2511 to reserve your lane. Reservations are taken up to 72 hours in advance.

No Lifeguard on Duty. Per the Nebraska State Law, anyone under the Age of 16 must be accompanied by an Adult Ages 18 and older.

OUTDOOR POOL SCHEDULE

Pool hours follow the hours of operation of the club.

Pool Rules

There are no lifeguards on duty at Lincoln Racquet Club.

The pool schedule is posted at the front desk and use of the pool is subject to paid programming listed on the schedule.

Per Nebraska State Law, anyone under the age of 16 is not permitted to use the pool or hot tub without a lifeguard on duty. Specifically, children under the age of 13 are not permitted in Genesis without parent supervision, regardless of a lifeguard on duty. Children under the age of 13 left unsupervised at any body of water without a parent with them will be subject to membership termination.
