Genesis has Manhattan's ONLY Indoor Swimming Pool!
That's right! There's only one indoor swimming pool in the city of Manhattan, Kansas, and it's located at Genesis Health Clubs on Allison Ave!
The Natatorium at Genesis Manhattan offers a wide range of amenities for your use. There are six lanes available for lap swimming, group/private swim lessons, and water aerobics classes. You'll also find a hot tub and a steam room for your relaxation and revitalization!

Year-Round Swimming Lessons
Members & Non-Members Welcomed!
Whether it's your child's first venture into the water for professional lessons or you are looking for extra attention to enhance swim meet performance, our program has the staff and experience to help. We love spreading our love of aquatics and knowledge of swimming to anyone that wants to learn.
We provide group, private, semi-private, adult, and conditioning seven days a week!
Private Classes
If you're looking for one-on-one instruction, whether it's for yourself or your little swimmer, we offer private 30-minute swim lessons with one of our professional instructors.

Adaptive Swim Lessons
Adaptive lessons are now available on Sundays for children with special needs.
Adaptive swimming lessons are geared towards people with cognitive, developmental, and neurological challenges. Those challenges can include the following: Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Cerebral Palsy, anxiety issues, hard of hearing, etc.
We want to include children of all ages and abilities to learn to love the water and become better swimmers!
Lessons are modified around your child's needs to promote safety, security, and enjoyment in the water.

Beginner Group Classes
Mommy & Me Aerobics
Ages 4 months - 18 months
This class is designed for babies and moms to get back into exercise in a gradual and relaxed style, while introducing their baby to the water in a fun and safe way!
Come enjoy a water aerobics class built for perinatal, postpartum moms while learning basic infant introduction skills to the water and enjoying intentional bonding time with your baby.

Intro Parent & Tot
Ages 12 months - 24 months
A toddler's first experience in a structured class environment. This class is taught to Parents and Tots to introduce an aquatic environment with a gentle and gradual progression.
Tots will learn to control breathing, kicking, arms, and floating through various games and songs promoting simulation of swimming movements.

Aqua Tot (with Parent)
Ages 2 - 3 years
This class is for our more experienced toddlers, while still providing the support from a parent. This class is taught to Parents and Tots to continue their knowledge in an aquatic environment with a gentle and gradual progression.
Tots will continue to learn to control breathing, kicking, arms, and floating through various games and songs promoting simulation of swimming movements.

Aqua Tot (Without Parent)
Ages 3 - 5 years
This class is in a Group setting to gain independence from parents, with a maximum ratio of 1:3. They will learn to respect the water and follow instructions by repetitive cues.
Swimmers will be gently introduced to floating, leg kicks, arm action, and safe pool entries and exits. Swimmers will work towards floating unassisted on their front and back for 5 seconds and swim independently 5 feet with their propulsion.

Level Group Classes
Level 1 - Exploring the Water
Swimmers will practice entering and exiting the water poolside; climbing out and jumping in unassisted. They will work on submerging mouth, nose, and eyes; blowing bubbles through the mouth and nose, bobbing in the water, and front/back floating with assistance. Swimmers will begin to learn front and back swimming using arms and legs and retrieving objects underwater.

Level 2 - Basic Aquatic Skills
Swimmers are able to complete skills unassisted, if only for a few seconds. They will work on submerging mouth, nose, eyes, and blow bubbles, while front kicking and adding strokes. Swimmers can glide on front at least two body lengths, roll to a black float for 3 seconds, and recover to a vertical position.

Level 3 - Stroke Development
Swimmers can move into a treading or floating position for at least 15 seconds and push off the bottom. Swimmers will begin to develop strength and technical form in primary strokes; swimming on front and/or back for 5 body lengths working toward full length of pool.
Swimmers can move into a back float for 15 seconds then roll to front, recovering to vertical position and/or continue swimming on front. Swimmers will learn to push off the wall in streamline and swim using combined arm and leg actions on front for 5 body lengths. Swimmers will work toward treading water for 1 minute.

Level 4 - Stroke Improvement
Swimmers will be learning survival floating with a front crawl and practice rotary breathing while swimming. Swimmers are given introductions to the Breaststroke and Butterfly strokes, Side Stroke, while improving all previous strokes and learning to tread water for 1 minute.

Level 5 - Stroke Refinement
Swimmers will be working on continuous front crawl (freestyle) with rotary breathing, Breaststroke, Butterfly, Sidestroke, and Backstroke with open turns. Swimmers will be introduced to flip-turns. They will learn to tread water using two different kicks. Swimmers will be preparing for the swim team.

Level 6 - Stroke Perfection
Swimmers will be continuing to perfect all swimming techniques while working toward being swim team ready! Swimmers will need to be able to:
- Swim Freestyle 25 yards with flip turn
- Backstroke 25 yards with flip turn
- Tread water for 5 minutes
- Do a Standard (back) scull for 30 seconds
- Breaststroke 25 yards
- Butterfly 25 yards
- Sidestroke 25 yards
- Elementary backstroke 50 yards
Swimmers will also be introduced to starts from the block.

Aqua Fit Arthritis
Strengthen your body with this zero-impact, slow-paced water exercise class. You'll use water and body resistance to condition and calm your upper and lower body in a fun group setting.

Aqua Fit
An energizing, all-level aquatics class focused on increased flexibility and range of motion. This class includes cardio, strength, and core work and may involve using equipment with your own body/water resistance to increase heart rate, muscle strength, and stamina.

Pool Reservations:
Pool Lane #1 is reserved for Via Christi Physical Therapy Mondays and Wednesdays from 7am - 12pm(noon).
Pool Lanes #3-6 are reserved for KSU Swim Club from 6:30 AM - 8:00 AM Monday through Friday, from September 3 - November 22, 2024 and February 3 - May 2, 2025.
Pool Lanes #3-6 are reserved for Manhattan Marlins Club Swim Team from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM Monday through Friday, and from 7:15 AM - 9:15 AM on Saturday, from September 3, 2024 - May 23, 2025.
Pool Lanes #3-6 are reserved for Manhattan High School Swim Team from 3:15 - 5:00 PM Monday through Friday, from November 15, 2024 - May 19, 2025.
