Genesis Health Clubs Pilates offers a full 450-hr comprehensive teacher training program lead by Director Kelli Harsh PMA®CPT. After introducing Pilates to our members at Genesis Health Clubs in 2003, Kelli shares her passion for fitness and movement through her teacher training and workshops. Genesis Health Clubs offers a full range of Pilates Teacher Training programs. With options for teaching Mat classes, Reformer classes, and Pilates personal sessions on all pieces of Pilates equipment, we have the programs you need to succeed.
We offer a certificate of completion for each training module so you can begin your teaching and practice hours while continuing your training if you choose. Please check with each affiliate location for specific training modules, as each program may vary.

Includes an introduction to the primary muscles involved in the movement. Specifically geared toward Pilates teachers, training includes covering exercises specific to the muscles and joints, allowing you to understand the information more effectively.
Mat I includes an introduction to the history and principles of Pilates, beginning exercises, and an introduction to intermediate level exercises with modifications. An overview of anatomy and movement principles is covered with this course.
Training manuals are provided for all courses. It is advised that those participating in our Teacher Training also purchase the following: Pilates Method Alliance (PMA) Certification Exam Study Guide, Return To Life by Joseph H. Pilates and William John Miller, and Pilates Anatomy by Rael Isacowitz & Karen Clippinger.
Mat II includes the remaining intermediate and advanced level exercises and the use of props for advancing clients or providing appropriate modifications. A continuation of anatomy and movement principles is covered with this course.
Reformer I & II includes introducing the Pilates Reformer, beginning and intermediate exercises, session sequencing, and teaching cues for group classes. You will also learn modifications designed for group and individual instruction. How to teach clients at different levels of ability is emphasized.
This course provides a thorough introduction to Cadillac/Tower exercises. Equipment set up, safety, and maintenance are covered, and incorporating the exercises into a client's session. This training is appropriate for learning Trapeze Table, tower, or wall unit exercises.
Learn to teach clients on this very adaptable Pilates piece of equipment. It includes exercises and variations for both private training sessions and classes.
This Pilates-based Barre training emphasizes the correct biomechanics of movement to increase strength, flexibility, and stability. It is a program geared toward all movement teachers—no dance experience required.

• Reformer Instructor training ~ Course work, written and practical test (34 Hours)
• Cadillac/Tower ~ Course work, written and practical test (18 hours)
• Chair ~ Course work, written and practical test (12 hours)
• Ladder Barrel- Course work, written and practical test (12 hours)
• 50 Personal practice hours and 150 Teaching hours, 24 Personal Sessions & 120 Observation Hours. (We suggest 20 observation hours for each module)
• Practical test
Total hours for completion of full program: 450 hours
Upon finishing all of the requirements, a certificate of completion from Genesis Health Clubs will be issued. Students who have completed a Pilates training program through other organizations, and are interested in obtaining CEU's and further training, should contact our office to inquire about our bridge program.
