Outdoor pool closure 

Our Team at Genesis understands and appreciates that our members value the outdoor swimming facilities. As the weather declines, our intention is to keep the outdoor pool open as long as possible. When the ambient temperature consistently reaches 55 degrees, we will be closing the outdoor pool for the season. 

We will be monitoring the temperatures and will communicate a closing date accordingly, with as much notice as possible.

Summer Aquatics Program

Swimming Lesson Guidelines

• Children must be 3 years of age to take lessons independently. 
• Children under 3 years may participate in Parent/Child classes.
• Pay for sessions in full to secure registration in that particular class.
• Registration begins 30 days prior to Group Swim Lesson session dates. 
• Sign ups are at the Miramont South Front Desk and the Fort Collins Club Front Desk.
• If it is evident that a child is not ready for lessons, an Aquatics staff member will contact the parent to arrange a full refund or attempt to transfer the student to an available class.
• In order to guarantee a 6:1 student to teacher ratio, makeup lessons are not available.
• Each class must have a minimum enrollment of two students. Classes with one student or less will be cancelled for the session.
• Prorating will only be done if Aquatics cancels a class during a session.
• Registration closes 24 hours before the start of the class.

Learn to Swim Program

Genesis’ year-round Learn to Swim program is designed for children from beginner to advanced levels. Students progress through the levels at their own pace. Our swim lesson program will help set the stage for a lifetime of water safety by equipping students with the knowledge and skills needed to help them swim safely with confidence. Please refer to individual descriptions to see the skill levels that will be taught in each class.

Children will learn the basic swimming skills in a fun, caring environment while parents are in the water with the children to help guide their learning.

Youth Swim Team - Miramont South 

Swimmers are invited to be a part of the Miramonsters Swim Team! Swimmers will work on technique development and endurance for the four competitive strokes. Our coaches provide an energizing environment where kids are inspired to set and achieve goals and have fun.

Season September 3 - May 15

Registration: Sign up at the Miramont South Front Desk. Registration is ongoing.
Requirements: All children must be at least 5 years old and able to execute the requirements for the appropriate team.

Red Team

Swimmers need to have passed Level 4 swim lessons and be able to swim 25 yards of freestyle, backstroke, butterfly, and breaststroke.

Black Team

Swimmers must be able to consecutively swim 50 yards of each of the four strokes (200 IM) as well as perform flip turns.

Masters Swim Classes

Masters

The Masters Swim program is for experienced adult swimmers. The class is for those who desire to improve their fitness level, to train for a special event, or to have the support and motivation provided by exercising with a group. We swim around 3,000 yards during the hour. Having basic swimming skills is a prerequisite, and we recommend that newcomers to the class be able to swim at least 500 yards (10 laps / 20 lengths) without stopping and be able to repeat 100’s on a 2:00 minute interval.

Masters Lite 

Masters Lite is an easier version of Masters. We focus on technique with a balance of speed and endurance. We swim between 2,000 – 2,500 yards during the hour. This is a goal – not everyone will complete the entire workout. Having basic swimming skills is a prerequisite and we recommend that newcomers be able to swim at least 200 yards (four laps / eight lengths) without stopping.

SwimFit 

SwimFit is a class that incorporates lap swimming and CrossFit exercises. The class includes a technique section and a swimming / CrossFit section. High intensity.

Water Fitness Classes

Water fitness is for everyone. Experience a low to no-impact workout in the pool that focuses on strength, cardio, endurance, and range of motion. Let our certified instructors motivate, support and inspire you with a variety of less joint-jarring workouts.

 

Silver Splash 

Activate your aqua exercise urge for variety! Silver Splash offers lots of fun and shallow water moves to improve agility, flexibility, and cardiovascular endurance. No swimming ability is required and various types of equipment are used to develop strength, balance, and coordination. Low intensity.

Aqua Intervals 

Alternating cardio and strength training for a full body workout. Class is taught at medium to high intensity with modifications offered for lower intensity. Equipment is used for strength training with focus on the core and major muscle groups. Exercises are adapted for those who want to stay in deep water.

Deep H20 Power

Outdoor Pool Rules

  • No running on pool deck
  • Jump in facing the pool and feet first only. No flips, spins, diving, or belly flops.
  • No jumping in over the ledge or steps.
  • No hanging or sitting on the lane lines, slide rope, or well rope.
  • Lap lane is for lap swim only.
  • Kiddie pool is for children 5 and under
  • No hard objects may be thrown in the pool.
  • No pushing or rough housing.
  • Children 2 and under must wear a swim diaper while using any of the pools.
  • Any child that is dependent on a floatation device must always have a parent within arm’s reach.
  • No large floatation devices (noodles and water wings are acceptable).
  • No gum, food, or drink in the pool. They must stay in the café and patio area.
  • No open cuts, sores, or band-aids in the pool.
  • No glass containers are allowed in the pool area.
  • No family swim in the indoor pool.
  • Water fitness equipment is only to be used for its intended purpose.
  • Any activity that interferes with the safety or enjoyment of others will be stopped immediately with one warning before dismissal from the pool as determined by any team member.

Slide Rules

  • The slide is only open when a lifeguard is on duty
  • Children under the height of the guard tube must complete a swim test before using the slide
    • Swim Test - The swim test is swimming nonstop across the outdoor well under the supervision of a lifeguard on duty.
      • No floatation devices or assistance is allowed.
      • Participants must be able to complete the swim 100% on their own.
  • Only one person may use the slide at a time.
    • Each person must wait at the bottom of the ladder until the individual in front of them has exited the splash zone.
  • Participants must ride the slide feet-first and on their backs. No flotation devices may be used on the slide.
