Thanksgiving Hours

In observance of the holiday, the club will be open 5am-3pm on November 23rd

Youth Swim Team

Swimmers are invited to be a part of the Genesis Health Clubs Miramonsters Swim Team! Swimmers will work on technique development and endurance for the four competitive strokes. Our coaches provide an energizing environment where kids are inspired to set and achieve goals and have fun.

Season: Monthly September – May

Registration starts August 16. Sign up online or at the Front Desk. All children need to be at least 5 years old.

Red Team

Children need to have passed Level 4 swim lessons and be able to swim 50 yards of freestyle and backstroke as well as 25 yards of breaststroke and butterfly.

Black Team

Children must be able to swim 50 yards of each of the four strokes as well as perform flip turns.

Swim Lessons

Youth Group Swim Lessons

At Genesis Health Clubs your child will develop the skills needed to be safe in, on, and around the water, as well as learning how swim at a high level. We have 8 different levels to match your child’s needs exactly. Please refer to the individual level descriptions to see what skills will be learned in each level.

Swim Lesson Guidelines

  • Children must be 3 years of age to take lessons independently. Children under 3 years may participate in Parent/Child classes.
  • Pay for sessions in full to secure registration in that class.
  • Registration begins 30 days prior to Group Swim Lesson session dates. Sign up at the Front Desk.
  • If it is evident that a child is not ready for lessons, an Aquatics staff member will contact the parent to arrange for a full refund or attempt to transfer the student into an available class.
  • In order to guarantee a 6:1 student to teacher ratio, makeup lessons are not available.
  • Each class must have a minimum enrollment of two students. Classes with one student or less will be cancelled for the session.
  • Prorating will only be done if Miramont cancels a class during a session.
  • All of our instructors are certified and experienced.
  • Registration closes 24 hours before the start of the class.

PARENT/CHILD CLASS – AGES 6 MONTHS TO 3 YEARS

Children will learn the basic swimming skills in a fun, caring environment while parents are in the water with the children to help guide their learning.

PSL1 – Introduction to Water Skills, Water Exploration | 6:1 student – instructor ratio

Students will focus on safety in entering and exiting the water, submerging their head and blowing bubbles, floating and gliding with support, water safety rules and wearing a lifejacket. No previous swimming experience needed.

 PSL2 – Fundamentals of Swimming | 6:1 student to instructor ratio

Students will focus on submerging completely, gaining comfort in gliding and floating without support, be introduced to treading water in the shallow end and arm and leg action is introduced. Children in this level should be comfortable putting their face in the water.

Learn To Swim Levels – Ages 4 and up

Level 2 – Fundamental Aquatic Skills/Primary Skills | 6:1 student to instructor ratio

Students will focus on complete submerging, floating and gliding without support, swim using alternating leg and arm action for five yards, and water safety rules, and how to help others. Children in this level should be comfortable trying things on their own.

Level 3 – Stroke Development | 6:1 student to instructor ratio

Students will focus on deep water entry and safety, side breathing, treading water, introduction to freestyle, backstroke, butterfly kick and body motion. Children in this level should be able to swim five yards on their own.

 Level 4 – Stroke Improvement | 6:1 student to instructor ratio

Students will focus on surface dives and underwater swimming, treading water using all kicks, freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly, and safety in diving. Children in this level should be able to swim 25 yards without stopping.

Students will focus on building endurance and technique on all strokes, race starts and flip turns. Children in this level should be able to swim 50 yards without stopping.

Youth Private Swim Lessons

Does your child want to improve his/her stroke technique, or do you just want to make sure your child is safe in the water? Let our trained, experienced, and certified instructors inspire your child in the pool. One-on-one instruction is available for all ages young and old.

Youth Private 1 on 1 instruction – Up to level 5 ability

Genesis offers private swim lessons with a certified instructor.

Small Group Lessons (2-4 people, 30 minute sessions)

This is a great way to have fun with a group while learning to swim.

 

A small group consists of two to four participants that coordinate their lesson with one instructor.

Do you want to improve your stroke technique, start training for an event, or do you just want to make sure you are safe in the water? Let our trained, experienced, and certified instructors inspire you in the pool. One-on-one instruction is available for all ages. .

Group Swim Classes


Masters Swim Classes

Masters

The Masters Swim program is for experienced adult swimmers. The class is for those who desire to improve their fitness level, to train for a special event, or to have the support and motivation provided by exercising with a group. We swim around 3,000 yards during the hour. Having basic swimming skills is a prerequisite, and we recommend that newcomers to the class be able to swim at least 500 yards (10 laps / 20 lengths) without stopping and be able to repeat 100’s on a 2:00 minute interval.

Masters Lite

Masters Lite is a lighter version of Masters. We focus on technique with a balance of speed and endurance. We swim between 2,000 – 2,500 yards during the hour. This is a goal – not everyone will complete the entire workout. Having basic swimming skills is a prerequisite and we recommend that newcomers be able to swim at least 200 yards (four laps / eight lengths) without stopping.

Swim Fit

SwimFit is a class that incorporates lap swimming and CrossFit exercises. The class includes a technique section and a swimming / CrossFit section. High Intensity.

Specialized Classes

Silver Splash

Activate your aqua exercise urge for variety! Silver Splash offers lots of fun and shallow water moves to improve agility, flexibility, and cardiovascular endurance. No swimming ability is required and various types of equipment are used to develop strength, balance and coordination. Low Intensity.

Aqua Fit

The Aqua Fit class is a well-rounded form of exercise for all ages and levels of exercise. The water provides an environment that protects exercisers from the impact of traditional aerobics, making it easier on the joints. The resistance of the water allows you to improve muscle tone while you work the cardiovascular system. Water allows exercisers to multi task, targeting several regions in the body simultaneously. Flexibility, balance, and core strength are also addressed in this class. High Intensity.

Intervals

Alternating cardio and strength training for a full body workout. Class is taught at medium to high-intensity with modifications offered for lower intensity. Equipment is used for strength training with focus on the core and major muscle groups. Exercises are adapted for those who want to stay in deep water.

Deep H20 Power

A low impact, high intensity workout! This is for those looking for a more aggressive cardio workout combined with periods of toning in deep water. A buoyancy belt is provided.
